CGNA Gerontological Nursing Standards and Competencies

CGNA is pleased to announce that the revision of the CGNA Gerontological Nursing Standards and Competencies is nearly complete. The goal of the standards and competencies project is to promote optimal care, quality of life, and maximize function in alignment with current evidence and expectation for the health of Canada’s aging population.
Request for Photos
Gerontological nursing has many faces: the faces of dedicated nursing professionals in hospital settings, in home care, in academic settings, in local communities, and around the globe. We invite you to submit photos that convey healthy aging, wellness, diversity, and spirit of gerontological nursing to be featured in the CGNA 2010 Gerontological Nursing Standards and Competencies document.
Criteria
- Photo(s) must be submitted using a 3 mega-pixel minimum digital camera on the highest quality setting, or 1200 pixels x 1800 pixels (Hint: select the “high” resolution setting on your digital camera. Many cameras have a default setting of low or medium).
- Submissions should be in electronic (JPEG, TIF, GIF) format.
- A signed permission from each person (patient, family, or nurse) in each photo must accompany the submission. Please click here to download the consent form.
- All submissions will become property of CGNA for use by the association.
